maintained and cleaned, it has high hardness, anti-slip, not easy
to stain and high density properties as well. Due to its Mozh
hardness which reaches 6.5, it is pretty similar to diamonds.

What’s In a Name?
Companies that manufacture quartz countertops have been very clever
with their naming. The word “quartz” represents one of Earth’s most
abundant minerals. One well-known brand of quartz surfaces says
that their product is “pure natural quartz.” The phrase admittedly
has a nice ring to it. But how accurate is it?
Geologically speaking, a manmade quartz countertop is not pure
natural quartz. The only thing that fits that criterion is
quartzite, which truly is pure natural quartz. Manufactured quartz
surfaces are mostly quartz, but they are not purely quartz.
Depending on the brand and the color, manmade quartz surfaces are
70% to 93% quartz sand or aggregate, mixed with polyester resin,
ethenylbenzene (also known as styrene), pigments, and other
additives.

Maintenance
Quartz countertops are virtually maintenance-free. Because the
quartz chips or dust is suspended in resin, it never needs to be
resealed. As mentioned above, as long as you protect it from
intense heat and direct sunlight and be sure to clean up any oil
spills immediately, you never really have to worry about your
quartz countertop being damaged.
Although quartzite countertops are incredibly durable, that doesn’t
mean the surface is maintenance-free. You’ll need to reseal your
quartzite periodically to prevent water from getting into the
stone’s natural pores, about every 6 months to 1 year depending on
how much wear and tear it gets. While this is a relatively easy
process you can do yourself, some homeowners don’t like the added
work and get lax with the maintenance, which can cause damage to
the stone over time.
